NEW 100% Recycled Polyester Eco-Friendly Fabric!

Now perceived as the future of sustainable, low carbon textiles production – RPET fabric, also called PET or PETE bottle fabric, is a new type of ‘green’ eco-friendly fabric made using the yarn of recycled plastic bottles.

Just 1 tonne of regenerated RPET yarn equals to nearly 70,000 plastic bottles. Reducing C02 levels by over 4 tonnes, saving over 65 Litres or 14 gallons of petroleum and over 1,400 gallons of water when compared to the production of virgin Polyester.

Using 100% recycled materials in an eco-friendly closed-loop process.

A completely closed-loop processing system is in place in the creation of the RPET yarn. Meaning that cleaning water and other materials are continuously reused and recycled, keeping production as environmentally friendly and as energy efficient as possible.

PET chips, the raw material used in the production of this 100% recycled fabric, is made from polyethylene terephthalate plastic drinks bottles. Fundamentally, the bottles are cleaned, flaked, chipped and dried before being spun, stretched and wound into yarn. This 100% recycled yarn is then used to knit our new fabric.

The properties of this recycled yarn and the corresponding fabric is equivalent to that of virgin polyester fabrics. Offering the consistently excellent characteristics that you would have come to expect from Chadwick’s fabrics. This particular fabric is a Pinhole Knit, 150GSM, sublimatable fabric that is typically used in lightweight garments such as T-shirts, Polo shirts and Vests for multi-sports and training kits.
