As part of our continued support of Raleigh International’s youth led reforestation project, Chadwick Teamwear will be donating 5p from the sale of every garment in 2020 to help improve the lives of those living in the Mufundi district of southern central Tanzania.
Tanzania is one of the world’s poorest countries. Approximately 75% of Tanzanians live without adequate access to safe water and sanitation. With a growing population of young people there is also considerable need for employment opportunities so they can learn how to develop sustainable growth and improvement for their families and communities.
With our help Raleigh International are empowering youths to learn about Natural Resource Management. The project engages approximately 900 community members across 2 village areas. Our support ensures international volunteers can continue to train and educate the youth workers from these communities about sustainable forest management and raise awareness of the significant positive changes that can be made. Central to the project is the planting of approx 300,000 fast growing pine tree seedlings each year. The 1st project commenced in the Autumn of 2018 with Chadwick currently committing funds until the Summer of 2021.
Joel Chadwick – Managing Director of Chadwick Teamwear commented:
“ I was proud to visit the projects myself for the first time in October. It was both humbling and fascinating and has only made me more determined that we need to take the lead both as a business and as individuals in playing our part to improve the way we operate environmentally.
It’s a huge challenge, but one we must all start to take more responsibility for each day”.
