Stock And Shipment Update
April 7, 2022 | All News | Corporate |

The measures we put in place last year to negate the potential impact of new Covid outbreaks means our average stock levels are now much higher in general for most of our ranges, approximately 40% higher in many cases.

We feel sure that our continued investment in higher stock levels will prove to be a significant factor in enabling us to fulfil the vast majority of “just in time” stock orders in full at the first time of asking, we are fully committed in offering a high level of service.

Clearly with the horrific events in Ukraine and its wider impact on world trade, coupled with huge inflationary pressures across all sectors we will all continue to face further bumps in the road. As a business, we would like to assure you we have already taken the necessary measures to ensure continuity of supply in these challenging times.

If you would like clarification as to the status of any forward orders you have placed then please do not hesitate to contact our sales team.

The recent and well publicised fresh outbreaks of Covid in China will no doubt raise questions for some about the potential for further impact on already stressed EU/UK supply chains, undoubtedly it will have some effect.

However, there is no reason to panic, given the current restrictions are not expected to last too long due to the ability to manage the virus more effectively in China.

Overall, the impact will certainly be a lot less than previously experienced when Covid first appeared. We estimate some of our production will be delayed by approximately 4- 6 weeks from the original delivery date. On this basis, we fully appreciate your understanding if we are unable to fulfil some goods on time as promised. The situation remains changeable and fluid in the short term, however, we will do our best to keep you informed.

Whilst the factory closures have only been for a period of 2-3 weeks in most cases, the backlog of goods and the availability of container space will need to be cleared at Chinese ports. We are working closely as always with our logistics partners and suppliers to ensure we are in a strong position to secure space quickly once goods are free to move again.
