September 2022 saw new guidelines put in place to ensure the affordability of schoolwear to parents in England.
Schools are now encouraged to assess their existing school uniform every 2-3 years to ensure its good value for money and fit for purpose. This may mean schools look for lower-priced alternative styles, drop some styles and replace them with one superior style, opt for stock items rather than bespoke items or consider removing school badges from certain styles.
The new guidelines mean that schools must be considerate and more inclusive for children from low-income families when reviewing their school uniforms. This is likely to involve more stakeholders in the decision making process, such as governors, parents, and children as well as the Head of Sport/Headteacher.
Chadwick’s offers ‘brand quality’ PE teamwear without the brand, which is built to last and to suit every budget. All styles remain in stock for typically over 10 years meaning Schoolwear customers can be assured that if a Chadwick style is offered to their school, it will not be discontinued after a few years.
With over 60 items in stock, we offer ‘Good’, ‘Better’, and ‘Best’ propositions in all our Schoolwear best sellers, allowing the customer to trade up or down to meet their requirements.
At Chadwick’s we are always on hand to help our suppliers to better understand our full product offering and guide them through the proposal process. If your schools are asking questions on stock alternatives or considering trading up or down, please contact our Sales Team to talk through the options 0161 9272571
